It’s that time of year again where we get to celebrate our Independence as a country. Over the years the celebrations seem to always include fireworks, family time, Barbeques, concerts, parades, etc. So the family here at Boca Java wanted to share some specials with you that may improve your day of celebration.
Thinking of throwing some meat on the grill? Try this Coffee barbecue sauce created by Julia Bushree and posted on Taste of Home. I have tried this and it’s well worth the time!
Sauce is done and now time for that drink. Most everyone wants to impress their friends with the latest or coolest cocktail so check this recipe out; of course it has coffee in it.

After you prepare the above drink and go into relax mode think about adding this dessert to your line up. It’s sure to confuse and impress your guests at the same time.
Maple Bacon Cupcakes
1 cup (2 sticks) of butter (room temperature)
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs (room temperature)
3 cups of sifted self-rising flour
1 cup of whole milk (room temperature)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Add small amounts of Boca Java Maple Bacon Coffee to your liking. (Brew it strong)
You may also add maple syrup and/or bacon grease to the cake batter to give it a richer flavor
Cream butter until it’s creamy and fluffy. Add sugar and vanilla then mix until it is very creamy. Add eggs and blend the batter till it is well mixed. Add Flour and milk to the mixture. Use an ice cream scoop to put batter into the baking cups so they are even.
* Consider adding maple syrup in the bottom of the baking cup, this will leave the cupcake very moist.
Frosting: 2 Dozen frosted
2 sticks of butter
4 packages of Cream Cheese (8oz)
2 cups of powdered sugar
2 teaspoons of Pure Vanilla Extract
Add small amounts of Bacon Grease to give a subtle hint of bacon flavoring
Add butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix on medium speed until it is very creamy and no lumps. Add bacon grease in small increments until flavor you desire has been reached.
* Cut small pieces of bacon to add to the top of the cupcake for decoration. You can also chop it up and crumble on top of the frosting as well. Use leftover bacon for bloody Mary in the am. Enjoy!
