Saturdays Caffeine Crawl in Boulder proved to be a winning idea when many turned out to sample some local artisan drinks and chocolate. Groups were split up and toured some amazing coffee shops, roasters and a chocolate café that makes their own from scratch with imported cocoa.
We had the opportunity to sponsor the after crawl which was held at Foolish Craig’s on Pearl Street. Here, participants sampled our Direct Trade offerings brewed fresh in Pour over’s and a Chemex. The coffees speak for themselves, but when explaining the Direct Trade story to a few inquiring minds it became evident it was equally important to them as well. My buddy Ryan was also on hand keeping the crowd caffeinated with a rocket-man pack loaded with iced Atomic coffee (think 50% more caffeine), which was perfect since the sun was a blazing at 5,430 feet!
The day ended with lots of prizes being raffled off including T-shirts, Direct Trade coffee, a Toddy, a hand held espresso maker and a very cool Baratza grinder. Overall the event was a success as we got to network with others and meet and greet some fascinating people.
Thank you to all that came out and supported your locals while hopefully being educated a bit about what goes into that cup you’re drinking. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event which sounds like it may hit Denver.
